The goal of aftercare is to keep your fresh tattoo clean & dry.
First 48 hours : Gently wash the area using clean fingertips with a gentle, unscented soap & water every few hours. We recommend CleanseMe (provided), Dr Bronners baby, Cetaphil, Dove, etc. Do not use a washcloth.
Pat dry with a clean tissue.
After 48 hours: Resume a regular washing routine (morning & night) using the same gentle cleanser for the full healing period.
Minor redness, irritation, swelling, and flaking are expected. DO NOT rub, pick, or scratch. No makeup, swimming, steam, sun exposure, or skincare products on the area during the first 2 weeks of healing.
• For dry to normal skin, apply a rice grain amount of aftercare oil to the brows with a clean q-tip as needed when feeling super dry or tight. Do not exceed more than 3x daily.
• For oily skin, you may not need to apply any oils, creams, or lotions.
• Keep clean & dry at all times, particularly in the morning when swelling & crusting is most expected.
• To prevent excess swelling, avoid high amounts of salt, drink lots of fluids, plan to sleep with an extra pillow (as upright as possible), and you may want to take antihistamines (benadryl) with doctor's permission on the day of.
• First 48 hours : Keep moisturized at all times. Use a straw to drink fluids. Cut up your foods. No intimate activity.
